Dark Souls dated for U.S., Europe

Brutal hack-n-slash RPG Dark Souls will hit U.S. stores on October 4, with a European release pencilled in for October 7, Namco Bandai has revealed.

The dates arrive hot on the heels of Namco’s recent showcase in Dubai, where the publisher confirmed that the title would hit western markets in October.

The game, a spiritual successor to 2009’s equally punishing Demon’s Souls, sees gamers suiting up in armor and embarking on gripping quest packed full of medieval architecture while battling legions of horrific foes.

Expect more info on the game to emerge at E3 next week. Stay tuned.
