Red Hook, the studio behind Darkest Dungeon, has been snapped up by Dead by Daylight creator Behaviour Interactive.
Red Hook is based in Vancouver, Canada, and now joins Behaviour Interactive, with a statement from the company revealing it has always been a fan of Red Hook’s Darkest Dungeon.
Today, we’re ecstatic to announce our acquisition of Red Hook Studios. Darkest Dungeon has long been a series we’ve admired, enjoyed (and maybe even lost a little sleep over) as fans, and the opportunity to welcome Red Hook as a fully independent studio under the Behaviour banner is nothing short of a thrill. We look forward to supporting Red Hook as they continue to do what they do best: put your sanity to the test.

News of Red Hook’s acquisition at the hands of Behaviour Interactive comes only a week after the Dead by Daylight studio announced it had closed Midwinter Entertainment, the Washington-based developer that was acquired by Behaviour only a few years ago. Prior to this, Behaviour announced that it had shelved Dead By Daylight spinoff Project T, which would have taken the form of a 1-4 PvE co-op shooter.
