David Hayter Promotes Metal Gear Solid In New Konami Campaign: ‘This Is Only The Beginning’

Konami has hired original Solid Snake & Big Boss voice actor David Hayter to promote the Metal Gear Solid franchise in a new video, which teases ‘this is only the beginning.’

In case you haven’t been keeping up with the series, Konami is looking to revive Metal Gear Solid with series of new projects, the most recent being the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1, which includes a number of classic MGS titles for modern platforms. Beyond that, we have a full remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in the pipeline, although a release date for that has not been announced.

Hayter has been involved in the Metal Gear Solid series for around 25 years now, having provided the voice for Solid Snake in 1998’s Metal Gear Solid. He continued to voice the character in future instalments, including Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as well as voicing Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater before the role was taken over by Kiefer Sutherland in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

Looking ahead beyond the MGS3 remake, there’s a very strong chance we’ll get a Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.2, as dataminers have uncovered evidence that MGS4 and Peacewalker may be part of the package.
