Deep Silver has hinted that the Dead Island series could be shambling onto next-generation consoles, with a possible announcement dropping as early as this year.
The publisher teased the info during a chinwag with VideoGamer.com, where the company was quizzed on the future of the zombie franchise.
In response, Deep Silver’s creative director, Guido Eickmeyer, stated: "Well, it would be surprising to shut down a franchise after such an outstanding success. What I can tell you at this point: There will be a lot of exciting news for our fans this year."
Deep Silver is gearing up for the release of the second instalment in the Dead Island franchise, subtitled Riptide, which hits stores in April 2013.
