Motive Studio, the developer behind the likes of Dead Space Remake and Star Wars Squadrons, will be helping out Electronic Arts‘ various Battlefield studios including DICE, Criterion Games and Ripple Effect going forward. Furthermore, Battlefield 2024’s Season 7 will be the game’s last, the publisher said.
The Battlefield team at Motive will be helmed by Philippe Ducharme and Roman Campos-Oriola, who served as executive producer and creative director on Dead Space Remake, respectively. Speaking on the news, Patrick Klaus, GM of Motive, commented:
Their proven expertise in storytelling, immersive battles and developing on the Frostbite engine uniquely positions them to help advance the vision for Battlefield, led by Vince Zampella (EVP, Group GM of Respawn and Battlefield) and Byron Beede (SVP, GM Battlefield).

As for Battlefield 2042, Byron Beede, SVP & GM of the Battlefield franchise, commented:
After Season 7 concludes, we will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but we are moving away from delivering official seasons.
Back in February, Insider-Gaming reported that the new Battlefield title will go back to the series’ roots and will apparently feature 64-player matches and a four-class system. A release date has not yet been announced, but the game isn’t expected until around 2025.
