The official PlayStation website listing for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach has revealed some new details on the Kojima Productions-developed sequel.
The listing for the game details the game’s ‘unique and explorable world,’ which is an open-world setting packed with “secrets to be found” and also offering “incredibly varied” environments with unique challenges to navigate. Meanwhile, the combat has players “facing human or otherworldly entities,” and players will have a range of options at their disposal.
Do you go in aggressively, sneak around enemies to achieve your goals, or try to avoid danger altogether? How you approach these situations is up to you. Your actions can affect how other players interact with the game’s world, and vice-versa. Make sure you leave our mark.

Death Standing 2: On The Beach is currently in development for the PS5 and is scheduled to launch at some point in 2025. Death Stranding 2 will feature the return of Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges, and will introduce new characters including Tomorrow and Rainy, portrayed by Elle Fanning and Shill Katsuna, respectively. The game is being powered by the Decimal Engine, which was developed by Horizon Zero Dawn creator Guerrilla Games.
Hideo Kojima previously revealed back in October last year that the Death Stranding 2 release date has already been decided, at the time couldn’t reveal any further details. With Kojima-san set to appear at SXSW 2025 as a speaker, there’s chance we may get a concrete launch date there, as he will be revealing more details about Death Stranding 2 at the event.
