Death Stranding 3 Concept Has Already Been Written, But Hideo Kojima Hopes Someone Else Will Make It For Him

Hideo Kojima has revealed that he has already penned the concept for Death Stranding 3, but echoing previous comments from earlier this year, has no plans to make the game — instead opening the door for someone else to handle the project.

I have no plans to make that (DS3) at the moment. Because the ending of Death Stranding 2 was my finale of 1 and 2. But I already wrote the concept of DS3. So I have that in data. I hope that someone will create it for me.

A few months back, during a Q&A for a preview event on Death Stranding 2, Kojima-san was discussing the concept of the Plate Gate, a feature that allows Sam Porter-Bridges to travel to new locations in-game. This makes the idea of sequels much easier, he said, but made it clear he wasn’t going to do it himself.

Death Stranding 2 is set eleven months after the original game, and takes place primarily in Australia, where Earth has bene ravaged by otherworldly beings. Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus) returns as the main character, as he ventures out with his companions to connect isolated survivors and colonies to the wireless chiral communications network in order to save humanity from being wiped out.
