You’ll need to download the Destiny 1.28 update today to prepare for the release of Destiny: Rise of Iron later today.
How to download Destiny 1.28 update
The latest patch should kick in automatically, but some users are experiencing problems downloading it. There’s a few fixes that you can try to kick-start the update.
- Pause and unpause the download
- Turn your console off and back on to resume the download
- Delete some spare on your hard drive. Turn your console off. Try again

2.4.0.1 – The one before Rise of Iron
General
- Fixed an issue where gear was not showing up properly in Kiosks
- Fixed an issue where audio could cut out during long sessions
- Added localization updates for Rise of Iron content
Quests
- Fixed an issue with quest tracking not functioning properly on Cosmodrome and Mars
- Fixed an issue with quest tracking not functioning properly for City Tower or City Tower NPCs
Crucible
- Fixed an issue with the volume of certain Shaxx lines
- 2.4.0.2 – The one about Film Grain
General
- Fixed an issue where Film Grain was inadvertently added
- Fixed an issue that shortened the revive interaction time and extended revive distance to pre 2.2.0 values
Destiny: Rise of Iron release time
Destiny: Rise of Iron will roll out across each territory at the following times:
- West Coast U.S. – 2:00am
- East Coast U.S. – 5:00am
- U.K. – 10:00am
- Western Europe – 11:00am
- Australia East Coast – 7:00pm
