Bungie has announced during its weekly update that hard mode will be coming to Destiny: Rise of Iron’s Wrath of the Machine raid later this month, offering Guardians a new challenge for those who have already beaten the standard difficulty.
Destiny: Rise of Iron Wrath of the Machine hard mode release date set
Hard mode will be deployed on Tuesday, October 18, which ties in nicely with Destiny’s weekly reset. So, if all goes to plan, you’ll be able to select the new difficulty setting as soon as the servers refresh. Just make sure you have a fireteam of six waiting, as you’ll definitely need it to conquer Rise of Iron’s biggest challenge yet.
Keep in mind that hard mode is reserved for Guardians of the highest Light Level only, so you’ll want to make sure you are the 385 level cap, or at least very close to it, in order to participate. The raid will also drop loot of up to 400 Light.
Elsewhere, Bungie also hinted that a number of time-based events will return from last year, such as Festival of the Lost and the Sparrow Racing League.
Destiny was released in September 2014 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The game has seen four major expansion to date: The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, and Rise of Iron, plus various updates and patches that have continued to fine-tuned the shared-world shooter experience.
Bungie launched the Destiny Collection last month alongside Rise of Iron, which includes the base game plus all available downloadable content. Since August however, support for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game has ceased, with all future updates only available on current-gen hardware.
Activision announced earlier this year that Destiny 2 will be released in 2017.
