Destiny: weekly Nightfall reset for January 5, 2016

Bungie has flicked the reset switch on Destiny’s game world for another week, which means Guardians have a fresh set of challenges to tackle as 2016 gets underway.

As the first Destiny reset of the year, Guardians can look forward to tackling the Dust Palace as the latest Nightfall challenge for Bungie’s shared-world shooter, which comes equipped with the following modifiers: Void Burn, Berserk, Specialist, Juggler, and Grounded.

The Court of Orxy meanwhile has been refreshed to include Thanlnok, Fanatic of Crota, as its Tier 3 challenge, while Prison of Elders has been reset to feature Machine Wrath and Cult of the Worm for Level 32 and Level 34, respectively.

Destiny was released in 2014 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The game was met with polarizing reviews at launch, although proved a massive commercial success for publisher Activision. The game received two expansions, The Dark Below and House of Wolves, in December 2014 and May 2015, respectively, with Bungie rolling out The Taken King in September this year—the game’s largest expansion to date.

While not selling as well as the base game, The Taken King still proved a big success, and was met with far more positive reviews than the vanilla version of Destiny. The DLC topped the U.K. All Format Charts upon release and sold through the majority of physical copies on the PS4. Recently, Bungie has released a number of event-based additions for its shared-world shooter, including the Sparrow Racing League, which runs for three weeks.

Looking ahead to the future, the former Halo developer has seemingly ruled out the possibility of major expansions, and instead will flesh out the Destiny experience with more events. However, it has said that one major update will arrive by spring 2016, and will be the largest since The Taken King’s release.
