Destiny fans have apparently uncovered the release date for the shared-world shooter’s next major expansion pack, due later this year.
The date can be traced back to April’s update, specifically a new Dead Ghost that was implemented as part of the patch. Found in the Prison of Elders, the Ghost then unlocks a Grimoire Card that mentions the ‘twentieth day of the ninth month’ in Latin—September 20, in other words.
How exactly did this come to be though? Well, a mysterious chap took to Reddit with word of the new collectible just 16 minutes after the April patch went live. Pretty sharpish, right? Sure enough, Destiny fans flocked to the location to see if the poster was telling the truth, which indeed turned out to be the case.
In addition, it just so happens that the Reddit user was called Rezyl Azzir, a name which can also be found on the Grimoire Card in question. Unsurprisingly, the user disappeared soon after making the post.
Coincidence? Most likely not.
Activision has announced that the new expansion will launch this year, but that’s all we know so far. Fans also have Destiny 2 to look forward too in 2017.
