Devil’s Third not dead, development is progressing well

Valhalla Game Studios has confirmed that development of Devil’s Third is progressing steadily.

Details on the game have been virtually non-existent since the title was dropped from now-defunct publisher THQ’s schedule after it was forced to streamline its output. However, fears of the game’s cancelation have now been put to rest.

As reported by Famitsu (via Gematsu), creator Tomonobu Itagaki confirmed that Devil’s Third is now at a stage where the developers can expand on its playability, and that it is adhering precisely to Itagaki-san’s style.

Given the idiosyncratic nature of Itagaki-san’s latest works such as Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows of the Damned, we can only assume this can be a good thing – and that, much like marmite, you’ll either love it or hate it.

Elsewhere, he confirmed that Devil’s Third won’t be shown off at E3, but said the team has made something ‘very surprising’ in terms of gameplay.
