Diablo IV Menu Design Changes Coming As Players Are Activating Premium Battle Pass By Accident

Diablo IV developer Blizzard has announced it will be tweaking the game’s menu system due to players accidentally activating their Premium Battle Pass.

If you’re not familiar with the layout, the Season menu features a Season Journey option where you can check your progress, and below this is the Activate Premium option. Turning this on transforms your standard Battle Pass into the Premium version.

This is mostly a problem with Diablo IV Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners, as the Premium Battle Pass is included, so the last thing people want to do is to activate it by mistake using the above option. If they do, the Premium Battle Pass is activated right away, with no confirmation prompt to allow you to cancel it.

This isn’t an option for regular owners of Diablo IV, as if they want to grab a Premium Battle Pass, they will have to purchase it through the storefront.

A user on Twitter, Rurikhan, noted that the ‘Activate Premium’ option is highlighted by default when players head to the Season tab, and accused Blizzard of “straight up malicious design.”

Asked why this was a problem, he replied, “Because I was saving my Battle Pass for a future season since I don’t have time to commit to this one.

Adam Fletcher, global community development director for Diablo IV, responded:

We have a temporary fix in the works that will at least ensure the cursor isn’t defaulted there and will instead be defaulted on Season Journey.

Blizzard last week moved to apologise for the game’s latest patch, stating the company has no plans to release a patch like that ever again.
