According to insider Dusk Golem, Capcom has attempted to remake Dino Crisis twice over the years but ended up scrapping the project as it wasn’t turning out all that great.
Posting on X, Golem revealed that Capcom Vancouver was the first studio to attempt to remake Dino Crisis prior to the studio’s closure, and a second attempt was made a few years ago but the project wasn’t coming along that well and so it was cancelled.

I hope Capcom eventually figures out what they want to do with Dino Crisis. For the record, & I don’t believe this is new info, but there has been a couple attempts in the last decade to remake Dino Crisis, the first by Capcom Vancouver before they were shut down (still have some of the leaked materials for that on my hard drive actually), the second a few years ago but just wasn’t turning out good so it got scrapped. I hope they one day figure out how they want to go forward with Dino Crisis & it’s able to pass prototyping stages.
Capcom has reportedly been looking to bring the Dino Crisis franchise back for some time now. In fact, the Capcom Super Elections last year asked ‘are there any Capcom game series (including spinoff games) that you would like to see get a sequel or new game?,’ and Dino Crisis topped the poll. The game was trademarked in Japan earlier this year, although nothing has come of that.
The original Dino Crisis is now available for PlayStation Plus Premium members and also be purchased separately.
