Disco Elysium Developer ZA/UM Reportedly Plans To Layoff A Quarter Of Staff, A Disco Elysium Expansion Has Been Cancelled

A new report from GLHF reveals that Disco Elysium developer ZA/UM have plans to layoff a quarter of its staff, and that the studios current project that would’ve been an expansion for Disco Elysium has been cancelled.

The layoff is said to impact 24 developers, which would represent a quarter of the studio. On the cancelled expansion, president of ZA/UM Ed Tomaszewski allegedly told the staff that the game was still “one to two years away from completion” and that it might’ve even taken “more time and effort than Disco Elysium did.”

To make matters seem worse at ZA/UM, the report also claims that its sources reveal this is the third project to be cancelled or put on hold in the last three years at the studio.

This all comes after multiple reports over the last few years of legal turmoil between ZA/UM and the leads behind Disco Elysium. The case has yet to be settled at time of writing.
