Disgaea 4 hitting North America in September 2011

JRPG Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten will be released in the U.S. this September, NIS America has announced.

The Nippon Ichi-developed outing hit Japan earlier in the year, exclusively for PlayStation 3.  A European release is currently in the pipeline, though it’s currently unknown when it’ll see the light of day.

For those out of the loop, Disgaea 4 revolves around a trio consisting of pint-sized Vampire Valbatoze, wolf-boy Fenrich and school girl uniform-wearing chick Fuuka. Set in the Netherworld, the sequel boasts a distinct political undertone – one chap even utilizes Barack Obama’s “Yes we can” slogan for his campaign.

Disgaea 4 turned up decent reviews in the Land of the Rising sun, netting an impressive 33/40 in Japanese gaming bible Famitsu.
