Larian Studios and Lynnvander Studios have taken to Kickstarter with Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game, which is described as a ‘cooperative, storytelling adventure game set in the Chronicle System.’ The project needs to raise $160,000 by December 20, and at the time of writing has made just over $43,000. Tidy!
Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game
Here’s the official blurb:
Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game is an epic adventure game set in the world of Rivellon. Up to 4 players take their heroes on a branching, narrative adventure, filled with tactical combat and meaningful choices. Thanks to the Chronicle System, the choices you make will impact not just your own story, but the future of the Divinity Original Sin universe.
Based on the award-winning Divinity Original Sin II video game by Larian Studios, the board game developed by Lynnvander Studios expands Divinity in new directions, adding new stories, side quests, skills, items, and monsters, all in a brand new tabletop experience.
Divinity Original Sin: The Board game will support up to four players and packs in over an hours worth of game time.
As with most Kickstarter projects, you’ll receive a number of different versions depending on how much you pledge to the crowdfunding campaign. For example, if you give $120 or more you’ll receive the Standard Edition, which nets you the board game and any unlocked Stretch Goals.
However, if you fork out $1650 or over for Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game, you will receive the same as above, plus the boss upgrade pack, metal coin set, upgraded leather bags, and extra dice set.
Larian Studios has set a projected release date of October 2020 for Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game, although that may change along the way. In addition, this is an all or noting project; if it doesn’t hit its funding goal, it won’t go ahead.
