DMC 4 more popular on PS3 than Xbox 360?

Simply because Devil May Cry 4 may not be a PlayStation 3 exclusive does not mean that Sony’s console won’t benefit heavily from it. What points to this conclusion you ask? Well the people do, of course!

That is, the people at the Osaka Games Festa in Japan by seemingly proving their interest that the PlayStation 3 version of DMC4 is far more fascinating than the Xbox 360 counterpart.

At the show, there were two versions of DMC4 being shown. The PS3 and 360, which were both at separate locations, showed in great detail just how the PS3 release is the more popular version. At the PS3 booth, all day groups of people crowed the DMC4 kiosk in anticipation to play the latest build of the game. The estimated wait time was anywhere between 60-80 minutes all day.

^ Unfortunately, the same could not be said about the Xbox 360 kiosk, as hardly anyone even       knew it was there

What could contribute to this is the initial fan base for Devil May Cry. Remember, during the PS2 days, the Devil May Cry franchise was always an exclusive, never appearing on the Xbox platform. Devil May Cry 4 marks the first time the series shifts outside of the PlayStation brand. So to be fair to the Xbox 360, this might explain the reason for the higher anticipation of the PS3 version vs. the Xbox 360.

Devil May Cry 4 is the fourth installment in what could be considered one of the greatest gaming franchises. In DMC4, players take control of a character by the name of Nero, who just recently found out about his unique set of powers. Nero is a young knight who happened to be in the presence at the time when Dante, Sparda’s renowned son, brutally slaughtered all of his followers. New to the series is a new-fangled combat system that integrates Nero’s “Devil Bringer”.

Devil May Cry 4 is a Capcom production and will be released on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360. The North American and European markets can get the game in February 2008 with the Japanese release coming a month earlier.
