DmC: Devil May Cry developer Ninja Theory is staffing up for a new, triple-A console project focusing on shooting, melee combat and stealth.
The company Tweeted, “Ninja Theory are hiring! Have you got what it takes to be our next Ninja? Check our career page for details” before posting a series of job ads, each one citing experience in triple-A projects.
According to one of the ads, which calls for a senior designer, Ninja Theory’s new project may be powered by the Unreal Engine 4.
The job calls for “experience working on a product featuring shooting, melee combat or stealth mechanics, and “knowledge of the game design development process gained from working on multiple shipped titles, ideally of a recognised AAA standard.”
It also added that “rudimentary animation skills (Matinee for UE3/UE4 or equivalent)” is desirable for the role, hinting that the game could end up running on Epic’s new tech.
Elsewhere, the role for technical director asks for a candidate who can demonstrate “innovation and understanding of entire game quality to a AAA standard in all disciplines,” and be “responsible for technical quality of AAA games and delivering on time the project in question.”
Right now it remains unknown as to what the title could be, although some of the descriptions – specifically shooting and melee combat – fits the Devil May Cry brand nicely.
However, with January’s reboot having performed under expectations from a commercial point of view, it remains up in the air as to whether or not Capcom would give the go-ahead for a new game.
