DOOM PSVR bundle announced by Sony

Sony has announced that it will release a DOOM PSVR bundle this winter to coincide with the release of the highly anticipated VR iteration of the popular first-person shooter.

The new hardware bundle includes a copy of DOOM VFR, a PSVR demo disc, PlayStation Camera, and of course a PlayStation VR headset.

Launching on December 1, 2017, the DOOM PSVR bundle will retail in the U.S. for $399.99 and in Canada for $499.99. If this tickles you fancy, then you can get your pre-order in now to avoid disappointment.

There’s no word yet on a U.K. release for this latest PSVR bundle, although we’ll keep you updated if we hear anything.

If you’re not familiar with DOOM VFR, then check out Sony’s official blurb:

Doom VFR transports you to the UAC facility on Mars and the depths of Hell, as your skills are put to the test through intense combat. Set shortly after the demonic invasion on the UAC’s Martian research facility, you are the last known human survivor – until your death.

Under a top-secret UAC operational contingency protocol, your consciousness is transferred to an artificial brain matrix. Your designated purpose: restore operational stability and use any means necessary to stop the onslaught of demons.”

DOOM was originally released on the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One back in May 2016. The game was later ported to the Nintendo Switch last week.

Viewed as a soft reboot of the venerable first-person shooter franchise, DOOM received critical acclaim and has sold over two million copies worldwide as of July 2017.
