Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Productions has revealed that it’s planning an imminent announcement, though for what exactly remains a mystery.
However, Schafer did provide a few tidbits on Twitter, confirming the reveal won’t be for a sequel or a port. So, from that we can assume it’s a new IP.
It’s worth remembering that Double Fine has been experimenting with PlayStation 4, after Sony approached the Brutal Legend developer in regards to making games for the new console.
It’s also set up a Kickstarter for the adventure title Broken Age.
Double Fine found cult success with the title Psychonauts in 2005, and players have been clamouring for a follow-up ever since. With Schafer’s assertion the impending reveal won’t pertain to a sequel however, we can safely rule that out – at least for now.
