Electronic Arts has announced that Dragon Age: Inquisition has become the most successful video game launch in developer BioWare’s history.
The fantasy RPG was released last fall on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, to positive review scores and had sales eclipsing EA’s internal expectations
"In particular, Dragon Age: Inquisition had by far the most successful launch in BioWare’s history," commented Blake Jorgensen, CFO of EA, "exceeding our expectations."
EA added that Dragon Age: Inquisition players have logged over 113 million hours in the game’s single-player campaign.
Interestingly, Inquisition didn’t appear to perform exceptionally well on the U.K. Charts, with the game debuting at no.5 before tumbling out of the Top 15 altogether the following week. It also came behind Thief, Alien Isolation and The Crew as the 35th best-selling game in the U.K. for 2014.
