Dragon Ball Fighters, a new instalment in the popular anime fighting game series, is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, Bandai Namco Games announced today.

The game is being produced by Arc Systems and will be released in early 2018, and takes the form of a 2.5D brawler that utilises a three-versus-three team battle system. Fans can also expect the ultra high-speed battles and flash special moves that has become a staple of the Dragon Ball games.

As for the game’s transition to 2.5D, producer Tomoko Hiroki confirmed that the team opted to eschew the usual three dimensional fisticuffs this time around as the new perspective features a broader range of expressions and allows for unique production values not possible in other styles.
