Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Demo Arriving January 7, Will Unlock Day Off Dress Costume For Full Game

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will receive a playable demo on January 7, 2026, publisher Square Enix has announced.

Those of you who play the demo will unlock the Day Off Dress costume for Maribel, which can be used in the full version of the game. Furthermore your save data will carry over to the retail release when it launches next month.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is slated for release on February 5, 2026 for PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The original version of the game, known as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Pats (Dragon Warrior VII in the US), was released for the PlayStation in 2000, and the RPG was later remade for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013.

Last year, the game’s producer, Takeshi Ichikawa, revealed that the game will feature a new ending based on the choices players make during Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. “So, even players who have played previous version of Dragon Quest VII, they’ll still get to have this fresh narrative experience with Reimagined,” he said.
