Gearbox Software has announced that the elusive Duke Nukem Forever will finally be hitting store shelves next year for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms.
News comes following a re-reveal for the shooter at PAX today, with Gearbox CEO and president Randy Pitchford confirming a 2011 release for the eagerly awaited title.
Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade or so, Duke Nukem Forever has endured a tumultuous development cycle over the years, with the game having been first announced back in 1997. Rumors that Gearbox was to take the reigns of the project first surfaced at E3 earlier this year.
