Dying Light 2 Stay Human Dying Light 2: Stay Human How Long To Beat Dying Light 2: Stay Human PS4 Dying Light 2: Stay Human PS5 News PlayStation PS4 PS5 Sony Techland

Dying Light 2’s Main Campaign Will Take Players About “20 hours”, According To Techland

After learning that a full, 100% completion playthrough for Dying Light 2: Stay Human would take 500 hours, debate began across the industry as to whether or not an astronomical quantity of gameplay hours is what players want.

It also concerned many players looking forward to Dying Light 2, as to how long the game would take them – especially if they had no desire to play past the main story.

Thankfully many players can put their concerns to rest. In a statement shared with PSU, Techland clarifies that in actuality, a “focused” playthrough of just the main campaign will take the average player “about 20 hours.”

If you’re completing all the side quests, collecting all the bits of information about the world scattered across it then you’re looking at closer to 80 hours.

Techland does also point out that the original Dying Light’s main campaign and side quests could be completed in just 30 hours, though some players put in hundreds of hours.

They also further clarified what they meant when they said that a complete playthrough would take 500 hours.

“According to our internal QA testing, it takes about 500 hours to see everything the game offers – find every collectible, listen to every dialogue [line], fetch every Easter egg, finish every possible ending, and visit every corner of the world.”

So in actuality it likely won’t take 500 hours even to complete Dying Light 2, especially if any of that time is meant to be devoted just towards exploring the world and looking at everything in it.

Players can now rest easy for Dying Light 2, but it’s not likely the debate on how long or short games should be will end anytime soon.
