The Entertainment Software Association has announced that E3 is coming back next year as a digital and physical event, having skipped this year entirely.
E3 has had a rough time the past few years due to the coronavirus pandemic, having been cancelled outright in 2020 and going digital-only in 2021. As mentioned, the event won’t be happening this year in any shape or form, leaving the bulk of game reveals to Summer Game Fest.
Stan Pierre-Louis, the President and CEO of ESA, commented:
We’re excited about coming back in 2023 with both a digital and an in-person event. As much as we love these digital events, and as much as they reach people and we want that global reach, we also know that there’s a really strong desire for people to convene–to be able to connect in person and see each other and talk about what makes games great.
