EA Announces In-Game Currency Pricing Changes For Apex Legends And Battlefield 2042

The pricing for two of EA’s live service titles, Apex Legends and Battlefield 2042 are changing globally. Changes for both games will go into effect on June 1, 2023, and while the changes will effect regions across the globe, they won’t effect all regions, at least right away.

Lists of effected regions are not provided by either title announcements, but in the case of Apex Legends, the following eight currencies will not see any change on June 1,: USD, EUR, JPY, HKD, INR, UAH, AED, VND.

While these regions are not listed in the announcement for Battlefield 2042’s changes, it is likely that these regions will also not immediately be effected by the changes.

EA also clarifies that for Battlefield 2042, this pricing change does not effect the base price of the game, only the in-game currency, BFC.

In both cases the price adjustments come as a “reevaluation” of current economic conditions, with some regions seeing increases and others price reductions, though EA does not clarify which will be happening where in the world.
