EA Boss Says ‘We’re All In As A Company On’ Battlefield 6, Which It’s Treating As A Platform And Not A Single Product

Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts, has revealed that the publisher is “all in as a company” for the upcoming Battlefield 6, which it has described as more of a new platform than a single product.

Speaking during a Q&A following its Q1 financial results for FY2026, Wilson was quizzed on the publishing powerhouse’s marketing plans for Battlefield 6.

Certainly, you’re going to see a lot more in a a couple of days. We’ve been investing more behind this Battlefield than any Battlefield product before it.

And really, the big reason for that is this isn’t just a product. We’re really building out Battlefield as a platform. And you’ll hear a lot more about this in just two days’ time, and all will become more clear about the nature of our investment over the last four years, with four studios building against this launch to date.

As with how we’ve thought about marketing the product, we’re going to get right behind it. We’re all in as a company on it. You may have seen the release trailer just a week or so ago. That was very well received. Of course, it’s just a release trailer. Most of our gamers are sitting there waiting for the big reveal that comes in a couple of days.

We have hundreds of creators and influencers flying into LA and to destinations around the world. They’ll spend all day with the products tomorrow, and they’ll begin streaming that product, out to their fan bases, on Thursday.

Battlefield 6 was officially revealed during a debut trailer last Thursday, confirming the game will be coming to PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S only and skipping last-generation systems. The multiplayer reveal is set to take place tomorrow. While a release date has yet to be announced, it was reported by a reliable insider recently that the game will arrive on October 10 alongside standard and a digital-exclusive Phantom Edition.

Speaking during the same Q&A, Wilson stated that EA has no plans to change the pricing strategy for its games going forward, presumably including Battlefield 6.
