EA CEO promises investors Mercenaries 3

We didn’t really get on with Mercenaries 2: World In Flames: the basics of combat were, well, basic, the plot was stuffed with offensively deranged machismo and the AI couldn’t find its way out of a cardboard box. Some of you chaps did, though: the game has sold 1.9 million copies worldwide, and Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has just told investors (as reported by Gamespot) to look forward to another sequel.

"There will be a Mercenaries 3 and, if I have anything to do with it, there will be a Mercenaries 10," Riccitiello declared. We assume he isn’t going to miss out all the numbers in between.

World In Flames developer Pandemic is said to be taking the reins once again. As to when the game’s coming out and what platforms it will support, Riccitiello’s keeping schtum.
