EA confirms Battlefield 3: Armored Kill release date

Electronic Arts has staple-gunned a September 4 release date to the PlayStation 3 release of Battlefield 3: Armored Kill.

The date applies to PS3 Premium members, who gain access to the DLC a week before their PC and Xbox 360 stable mates.

For the rest of you however, it means waiting until September 18 and September 25 for regular PS3 and PC/360 gamers, respectively.

Armored Kill, as the name suggests, offers a heap of new tanks, ATVs and mobile artillery to get to grips with, as well as four fresh maps – and one of them is being trumpeted as the largest in the series’ history.

In addition, the DLC also adds Tank Superiority Mode, which is essentially a tank-focused spin on King of the Hill.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but if it’s the same as the last chunk of DLC, Close Quarters, then expect to shell out £11.99/€14.99/$14.99/1200 Microsoft Points.

Armored Kill will be followed by two more DLC packs: Aftermath and End Game. The former is scheduled for release in December 2012, while the latter is set to arrive sometime in the winter.
