Electronic Arts has revealed that development is not underway on Battlefield: Bad Company 3.
Fans have been calling out for a follow-up to the much-loved Bad Company 2, but it seems developer DICE is focusing its efforts squarely on Battlefield 4 at present.
“We love the Bad Company series, but don’t have it in active development,” the official Battlefield Twitter commented. “Battlefield 4 is our main focus for the year.”
Bad Company adopts a far more humorous tone to its super-serious stable mate, and has become renowned for its comedic cast and general flippancy in comparison to the core series. Bad Company 2 was released in 2010, so it’s been a while since we’ve seen the franchise in action.
Battlefield 4 is due out in October for PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360 and next-generation consoles.
