EA: Medal of Honor sells 2 million, FIFA moves 8 million

Electronic Arts has confirmed that its Afghanistan-based shooter Medal of Honor has shifted two million copies since its launch in October.

In addition, the publishing powerhouse also revealed that footie outing FIFA 11 has moved a whopping eight million copies globally since its release at the beginning of last month. The sales milestone brings worldwide life-to-date figures for the soccer franchise to over 100 million.

Elsewhere, EA’s chief operating officer John Schappert later revealed during the company’s Q2 financial call that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has sold six million copies since March 2010 – for those keeping score, that’s double the amount of sales achieved by the original.

“We had another strong quarter, beating expectations both top and bottom line,” commented EA bigwig, John Riccitiello. “We credit our results to blockbusters like FIFA 11 and to innovative digital offerings like The Sims 3 Ambitions and Madden NFL 11 on the iPad.”
