The upcoming Star Wars project from developer EA Motive will offer a “very unique Star Wars experience,” the company’s VP and general manager, Patrick Klaus, has teased.
Star Wars Game Teased By EA Motive
Speaking at the Montreal International Game Summit with GamesIndustry.biz, Klaus commented:
We’re doing a lot of work internally in order to identify our DNA, who we are, and what we do. We’re in the process of communicating that internally and making sure the teams buy into it, that they’re fully committed to where we’re going and they understand why. And then I think the identity externally gets proven when we release games, and when we release successful games.
When I joined, I certainly didn’t want to just do a hard reset because there are plenty of things that are great. So we added some elements, tightened up the mission, tightened up our production plan. We refocused the new IP we’re developing in order to make sure the studio becomes a powerhouse for years.
EA Motive hasn’t shared many details regarding its Star Wars project yet, and we don’t even know what platform(s) it will be released on. However, given that it still sounds far off, we can assume it’ll launch for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Former Assassin’s Creed producer Jade Raymond founded EA Motive back in 2015, but left the studio a few years later. During that time, the studio working on a number of key projects, including Anthem, Star Wars Battlefront II, and the cancelled Star Wars project headed up by ex-Naughty Dog and Uncharted director, Amy Hennig.
It’s a pretty big time for Star Wars fans right now, with Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker due in cinemas this week, plus the recent release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from Respawn Entertainment.
