Electronic Arts has let slip that it’s beavering away on something related to Mirror’s Edge, though is remaining tight-lipped on any specific details for now.
Speaking to GameStar, the publisher’s senior vice president, Patrick Soderlund, said he “loved” the original parkour-inspired actioner and reiterated that the company hasn’t given up on the franchise.
"I loved Mirror’s Edge and what we did with Mirror’s Edge," said Soderlund. "We have not abandoned the franchise. And we are working on something, but I’m not willing to talk more about that."
Chatter on a new Mirror’s Edge has been doing the rounds for some time now, and EA has said many times that it hasn’t abandoned the series.
Back in June, EA’s Frank Gibeau hinted that the series might take advantage of Battlefield 3’s celebrated Frostbite 2 engine for a future instalment, and said ideas are being worked on for a sequel.
