Electronic Arts would “probably” be open to a sequel to commercially unappreciated actioner Shadows of the Damned, composer Akira Yamaoka has revealed.
Developed by Grasshopper Manufacturer, the horror title was released in June 2011 to a warm reception from critics, though failed to set tills alight. In fact, the game only sold 24,000 units during its first month on sale in North America, and didn’t do much better elsewhere either.
The game itself is a collaboration between Grasshopper big cheese Goichi Suda and survival horror legend Shinji Mikami, and was published by EA.
However, despite poor sales, Yamaoka-san didn’t rule out the possibility of seeing a follow-up to the game. "I’m thinking of a sequel, actually," he told Eurogamer. "I can’t tell you here, but clearly I’d like to."
Quizzed as to whether EA would back a sequel, he replied “Probably,” before adding “Well, yes.”
