Users attempting to flog empty Sony PS5 boxes for exorbitant prices on eBay are being targeted by the auction site, after scammers have been quickly trying to cash in on the supply drought for Sony’s next-generation console.
eBay notes that posting empty box listings and item photos do not comply with its No Items Policy and will be subsequently given the boot, as sellers are not allowed to “misrepresent what they’re listing for sale” on eBay.
We have been taking action to remove fraudulent listings from our marketplace. For any purchase, but especially highly-priced or in-demand items, we recommend that buyers exercise caution and thoroughly read the listing description.
