Ex-Ubisoft Execs Arrested Following Investigation Into Sexual Assault & Harassment

French authorities have arrested five ex-Ubisoft executives following an extensive investigation into sexual assault and harassment within the Assassin’s Creed publisher.

According to the French publication Liberation, three of the former Ubisoft executives were arrested yesterday, and another two picked up earlier today. They include Serge Hascoet (former chief creative officer), and Tommy Francois, who served as VP of editorial and creative services.

The pair departed more than three years ago amidst widespread allegations of abuse, discrimination, and harassment at Ubisoft, with both of them among those accused within the publisher. Their arrests come in wake of complaints by the Solidaries Informatique union as well as two victims from summer 2021, with Bobigny’s public prosecutor’s office handling the case.

When contacted by GamesIndustry.biz on the matter, a Ubisoft spokesperson only had the following to say: “Ubisoft has no knowledge of what has been shared and therefore can’t comment.”
