Quantic Dream has announced that the PlayStation 4 version of Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) will be released via the PlayStation Store on August 10.
Originally released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, Fahrenheit is very much the precursor to Heavy Rain, and arrives on Sony’s current-generation console will full Trophy support.
"This scepticism was so radical that we had to switch publishing partners during the last third of the game’s production. While we were showing off the beta version, a certain group of high profile professionals even claimed that we would never be able to finish the game!" said Quantic Dream’s co-CEO and Executive Producer, Guillaume de Fondaumiere.
"The reason for this scepticism was that we were creating something radically new, as we were attempting to resolve an equation that many thought was unsolvable: putting the story at the very core of an interactive experience and inventing gameplay that allowed players, through their actions and decisions, to change the way the story unfolds."
Upon its release, Fahrenheit garnered rave reviews from critics and was nominated for various accolades including Game of the Year, Best Adventure Game, Best Story, and Best Original Score.
Quantic Dream is currently working on its next major project, the PS4-exclusive Detroit: Become Human.
