The unofficial successor to Oblivion, Fallout 3 is looking to take the RPG genre by storm, come 2008. Bethesda is looking take the franchise into the next generation by incorporating many unique elements such as an impressive combat system that adds great depth of strategy, responsive AI, and a deep and dark story.
Furthermore, players of the series will be fond to know that their experience can be relived numerous times all featuring different experiences.
Pete Hines of Bethesda explains, "There will be somewhere between nine to 12 different endings to the game based on what you’ve done in the game. So it’s something that is inherently a diverging path. It may be some of the same things but doing them in very different ways, and ultimately that will define your gameplay experience."
Needless to say, 9-12 endings would create a lot room for replay value. It is going to be interesting to see how each ending varies from one another in terms of uniqueness and creativity or will they all be the same with just a few minor detail changes here and there. Either way, Bethesda is promising a lot so lets just hope they deliver.
Fallout 3 is the latest entry in a well-known and highly respected RPG franchises created Interplay in the late 1990s. Now taken over by Bethesda, the Fallout franchise is taken a step further by the great RPG makers of Morrowind and Oblivion. Fallout 3 is currently scheduled to late 2008.
