Fallout 4 is ‘basically done’

Fallout fans everywhere will be happy to know that Bethesda’s highly anticipated title is well on its way to being in their hands. In an interview with GameSpot, Bethesda’s marketing director Pete Hines revealed that Fallout 4 is in its final production stages, and has been even before its announcement. This also means that it’s too late to add any new features being requested by fans.

"Let’s be honest, [right now] it doesn’t matter what anybody wants for a feature in Fallout 4," said Hines. "The game is basically done. It was by and large done before we announced it, in terms of the features going in. You’re not adding new features in May, June, July in the year you’re releasing; you’re trying to get everything fixed."

While it may be too late for fans to ask Bethesda to tweak its long awaited title, that doesn’t mean its fans have been ignored. Hines emphasized the company’s focus on fan input by recounting its efforts of scouring forums and reviews for Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in order to make a better Fallout 4.

"All of that stuff is important. A good developer knows how to take all that and figure out how to address is," said Hines. "You can do anything, you just can’t do everything. So you have to be able to prioritize and figure out what are the big wins, what are the challenges you’re going to tackle, and what are the things you just don’t have the bandwidth to take on."

Fallout 4 has a planned release of November 10, 2015, and will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
