Famitsu crowns Hideo Kojima ‘most valuable person’

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has been labelled ‘Most Valuable Person’ during the 2008 Famitsu Awards in Tokyo today.

According to Developmag, the award recognises ‘the person who has contributed to the growth of the games industry, not limited to developers’. The celebrations don’t stop there, either. Kojima Productions also snapped up the award for Best Character of the Year, which went to Metal Gear Solid 4’s Old Snake.

Elsewhere, Capcom scooped up Game Company of the Year, while the publisher’s mammoth selling Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G title earned Best Seller Grand Prize.
