Lords of the Fallen 2, the sequel to 2023’s dark-fantasy RPG from developer Hexworks, has received a flashy new trailer during The Game Awards 2025 this evening, offering us our first look at the game in action.

Originally announced back at GamesCom Opening Night Live back in August, Lords of the Fallen 2 is technically the third entry in the series, with the original The Lords of the Fallen arriving in 2014 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. That game was followed by Lords of the Fallen, although the development of the project was pretty choppy, as it was planned to arrive in 2017 long before the arrival of the PS5.
However, developer Defiant Studios downsized the project and production was started from scratch. This wasn’t the end of the game’s woes, as the company was later replaced by Hexworks, who would overhaul Lords of the Fallen with Unreal Engine 5 for the new generation of systems. Fortunately, it looks like this latest sequel is coming along just fine with no issues holding back its planned launch next year.
Lords of the Fallen 2 is slated for release in 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
