French publisher Ubisoft has confirmed that 1980s-inspired romp Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon has notched up over one million sales.
In addition, the company also hinted that the title may receive a physical release in the future.
Speaking with Game Informer, Ubisoft head honcho Yves Guillemot commented, “What’s changing is that there’s more digital sales.
“So it means that you can come up with games that are smaller in size but bigger in innovation, because you don’t target a huge group – you target specific auidences.”
Guillemot went on to confirm that the game has sold one million units, before adding, “maybe we’ll go to retail at one point so we’ll achieve a bit more.”
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a shooter game in which players experience gameplay from a first-person perspective. Set in a dystopian 2007, Ubisoft describes the game as "an 80s VHS vision of the future" where the player must "get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world".
Players control a ‘Mark IV Cyber Commando’ named Sergeant Rex Power Colt (Michael Biehn) who must fight an enemy cyborg army known as Omega Force in a world containing ‘blood dragons’ and mutants.
