Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Classic Edition Is Also Getting A 60 FPS PS5 Update

Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Classic Edition is also being outfitted with a 60 FPS update alongside Far Cry 3 Classic Edition on January 21, 2026.

Originally released as a standalone expansion for Far Cry 3 back in 2013, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon takes place in retro-futuristic world that acts as a celebration of 1980s action movies and video games. Here, players control Sergeant Rex ‘Power’ Colt, a cybernetic super-soldier portrayed by Michael Biehn, who played Kyle Reese in The Terminator among other films.

The game takes the form of a first-person shooter and sees Colt on a mission to take down his former commanding officer. Along the way, you’ll be dispatching hordes of robotic cyber soldiers and mutant foes with an assortment of weapons, including pistols, machine guns, shotguns and more.

Ubisoft best described the game by calling it “an 80s VHS vision of the future,” where the objective is to “get the girl, kill the bad guys, and save the world.” In that sense, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is an absolute triumph.
