Far Cry 4 Update 1.08 Enables 60 FPS On PS5

Ubisoft has reportedly patched Far Cry 4 to allow the open-world title to run at 60 FPS on the PS5, just weeks after the company removed nudity from the game before hastily patching it back in on PC. Far Cry 4 update 1.08 is now available to download for console users, enabling the frame rate boost.

The update was spotted on the Far Cry subreddit by user gael_74, and hopefully means we’ll be getting more games from Ubisoft’s PS4 era that will be patched to allow for a buttery-smooth 60FPS on modern platforms — Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Assassin’s Creed Origins are two games that have benefited from this.

Far Cry 4 was originally released for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One in 2014. The game takes place Kyrat, a fictional Himalayan country that is in the midst of Civil War between Pagan Min’s Royal Army and the Golden Path rebel movement. Players follow Ajay Ghale, who travels to Kryat to spread his mother’s ashes, only to be caught up in the ongoing power struggle that spans game’s open-world setting of North and South Kyrat.
