Far Cry Primal game world ‘as big as Far Cry 4,’ says Ubisoft

The creative director for Far Cry Primal has dismissed fears that the upcoming prehistoric action-adventure game would be scaled down in comparison to its most recent, sprawling predecessor.

Speaking during an interview with GameSpot, Maxime Beland confirmed that Far Cry Primal’s is a full-fledged entry in the multi-million selling open-world franchise, and as such boasts a game world that is just as big as Far Cry 4.

This is the next Far Cry. The world is as big as Far Cry 4. It’s got an immense story that you do at your own pace, there’s side missions, there’s bonfires. It’s a Far Cry game," said Beland.

I think it’s going to be the equivalent of Far Cry 4. If you decide to all the side stuff, then the gameplay hours go really high. I think our single-player story, if you’re rushing through, will be similar to Far Cry 4. The world is as big as Far Cry 4, too.”

Far Cry Primal is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23, 2016, with a PC version landing in early March. The game takes place in the Stone Age, with players assuming control of a tribal warrior named Takkar, who must survive in a hostile world inhabited by rival tribes and vicious creatures, including sabre-tooth tigers, wolves, and grizzly bears. Players will be able to craft and wield an assortment of primitive weapons including clubs, axes, longbows, and other such tools to defend themselves as they explore the majestic yet deadly land of Oros.

Far Cry Primal will be receiving a Deluxe Edition when it hits stores early next year, which includes a range of physical and digital content.
