Another year, another FIFA from EA Sports. The FIFA 17 release date is just around the corner and you can arrange your preorder right now, but what can you expect from EA’s inaugral footy title?
Well. you can say what you want about PES 2017’s glorious football on the pitch, but in terms of presentation, licensed teams and incredible online options, FIFA is still the best football game on the planet for many.

Play the FIFA 17 demo today
The FIFA 17 demo is available to download right now on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
Just go to the PlayStation Store, download it and you’ll be able to:
- Be part of ‘The Journey’ single-player campaign
- Play kick-off mode with 12 licensed clubs
- Choose from three authentic stadiums
When does it launch?
The FIFA 17 release date in US is September 27, 2016.
The FIFA 17 UK release date is planned for September 29, 2016.
What to expect from Journey Mode?
Journey mode follows the career of a young Manchester United player called Alex Hunter. Accompanied by cinematic cut-scenes, you’ll take charge of matters on and off the pitch and experience the highs and lows of being a Premier League footballer. It’s not just on the pitch where you’ll have to perform, but also during interviews where you’ll need to choose multiple choice options carefully. Making the wrong decision could effect morale!
What are the new features?
Much has been made about the new upgrades to this years FIFA, which include:
Interact more physically with other players thanks to the new Pushback technology. Battle for space and possession with enhancments to dribbling and ball control. There’s also now the ability to shield the ball from opponents and make across the body tackles.
Better set pieces
Have more control over corner kicks and free kicks with the ability to customize run ups and bend the ball around the opposition with skill. The new corner targeting system allows you place pin-point passes into the box, while changes to penalty kicks mean you can approach the kick from a variety of angles.
More varied attacking techniques
Among the many new attacking options, you can now drive the ball low with volleys and slot them past the keeper. Other new skills include curving through balls, heading the ball downwards and driving goal kicks.
Ultimate Team ratings: Who are the best players?
The best players for FIFA 17 have been revealed, and FutHead.com has a great guide on those players that are the fastest and most skilful. Top of the rankings is Christiano Ronaldo, followed by:
- Lionel Messi
- Luis Suarez
- Jerome Boateng
- Gareth Bale
Where can I preorder FIFA 17?
You can preorder the game from the PSN Store, or online at a variety of retailers. The EA Sports website will point you in the right direction to preorder.
How much does it cost?
There’s various options to choose from, and the FIFA 17 price varies:
- FIFA 17 Standard Edition – £54.99 ($59.99)
- FIFA 17 Deluxe Edition – £64.99 ($79.99)
- FIFA 17 Super Deluxe Edition – £79.99 (US price not yet revealed)
These prices are for the PS4 versions only. There are better deals if you’re part of Xbox One’s EA Access program. PC prices will also vary.
Depending on which edition you buy, you’ll get various amounts of FUT draft items, loan items and kits. Go for the Super Deluxe Edition and you’ll get
