Classic brawlers Fighting Vipers, Sonic the Fighters and Virtua Fighter 2 will be re-released on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade, SEGA has confirmed.
The news follows hot on the heels of recent rumors that the beat-‘em-up titles – originally released in the arcades and on Sega Saturn – would be receiving a digital re-release.
Arriving as part of the Model 2 Collection (named so after the fact all three games were made for SEGA’s model 2 arcade cabinets), the trio will set Japanese gamers back 800 yen/800 Microsoft Points for PSN and XBLA, respectively.
In addition, the software giant also confirmed that Virtua Striker and Cyber Troopers Virtual-On will be hitting Sony and Microsoft’s online services, though no further details were given.
SEGA has yet to confirm whether or not these games will be heading to western regions, though given that past classics – such as Jet Set Radio, Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS – have done so, there’s every chance they will.
