Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto has revealed via Twitter that development on the PlayStation Network release of Final Fantasy IX has wrapped.
The game has now entered the testing stage though we’re still none the wiser as to when it will be made available on the PlayStation Store for download. Still, in the meantime, you may as well crack open FFVII and FFVIII to pass some of the time while you wait.
Final Fantasy IX originally hit the PSone back in 2000 and went on to sell a meaty 5.30 million copies worldwide, though didn’t quite match the dizzying commercial heights of its predecessors. Nonetheless, it has maintained a strong following among fans and currently holds a 94% review average on Metacritic.
